Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data Cryptomero processes, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights. We collect as little as possible: using the comparison tool requires no account and no sign-up.

The data we process

Contact form

Data: name, email address and message. Purpose: answering your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you. Retention: 12 months after our last exchange.

Price alerts

Data: email address, chosen crypto-asset and price level. Purpose: letting you know when the price reaches your level. Legal basis: your consent, confirmed by email. Retention: until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time using the link in every message.

Exchange reviews

Data: name or nickname, email address (never published), rating, comment and a pseudonymised fingerprint of your IP address. Purpose: publishing reviews and preventing duplicate or abusive reviews. Legal basis: your consent when you submit a review and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. Retention: for as long as the review is online.

Clicks to exchanges

Data: exchange and button clicked, page of origin, language, country, device type and a pseudonymised fingerprint of the IP address. Purpose: measuring how links are used and tracking our partnerships. Legal basis: our legitimate interest. Retention: 12 months.

Technical logs

For security and to keep the website running properly, technical logs are kept for no more than 30 days.

Country and location

To pre-select your country in the comparison tool, the website uses the information supplied by its host or content delivery network. Failing that, your IP address may be sent to the ip-api.com service, which returns a country code only. You can always change the suggested country.

Cookies and local storage

Cryptomero uses no advertising cookies. The items below only serve the settings you choose and are therefore exempt from consent.

  • cc_lang and cc_currency: remember the language and currency you selected. Duration: 1 year.
  • cc_pending: passes the criteria entered in the search form on to the results page. Duration: 2 minutes.
  • Browser local storage: remembers the light or dark theme and the view chosen in the exchange directory. This information stays on your device.

When you follow a link to an exchange, it may set its own cookies, in particular to identify where your visit came from. These are covered by the exchange’s own privacy policy.

Recipients

Your data is intended for the Cryptomero team and, for technical purposes only, for our hosting provider Hostinger and our email delivery service. It is never sold, rented or passed on to partner exchanges.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS, access to its administration is restricted, and IP addresses linked to clicks and reviews are pseudonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country of residence.
